Fractional Laser Treatment is a technique in which LASER delivers microfractional columns – areas of tissue damage surrounded by healthy tissue – helping in the faster repair of such lesions and at the same time initiating collagen regeneration mechanisms aimed at skin aesthetic improvement; with short recovery time as its main advantage.
Fractional CO2 Laser emits a sequence of LASER photon micro-beams of 10600nm wavelength scanning at high speed a skin area delivering microfractional columns at predetermined intervals. Each column consists of a central ablation zone and an enveloping thermal zone or protein lysis zone.
In the state-of-the-art ULTRA PULSE FRACTIONAL CO2 Laser, such as Edge ONE, ablation zone is very small in diameter while the enveloping thermal zone is minimized, thus reducing tissue damage created by each Laser micro-beams, resulting in:
- Better treatment tolerance – less pain
- Shorter and even less recovery time without any black spots (as previously)
- Greater safety
- Best end result
Edge One FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER has a double action:
On skin surface (sublimation-exfoliation)
- Improves skin texture
- Reduces diffuse dyschromia
- Softens externally wrinkles and scars.
Result is evident in 10 to 15 days after treatment.
In the dermis where collagen regeneration is triggered
- Reduces wrinkles
- Improves scars
- Thicker and better structured collagen-tight lift
Result is evident in max. one to two months after treatment.
For better end result, treatment can be repeated every one and a half months; a total of 3-4 sessions are recommended.
FRACTIONAL CO2 Laser treatment is recommended in the following cases:
- Acne scars
- Open pores
- Diffuse dyschromia
- Post-traumatic – Postoperative scars (hypertrophic – atrophic)
- Stretch marks
- Creased and dull skin
The overall skin texture improvement, collagen regeneration, reduction of wrinkles, dyschromia, scars, open pores, as well as removal of seborrheic hyperkeratosis, papilloma, senile spots etc., contribute to aesthetic improvement and limitation of skin aging.
EDGE ONE ULTRA PULSE CO2 FRACTIONAL LASER has multiple settings and, following specialized treatment protocols, treatment is customized according to each subject’s needs. Depending on the aim of treatment, Laser’s depth can be adjusted to epidermis or deeper into the skin, and so can be intensity of treatment combining the best possible result with the shortest recovery time.
Edge One Ultra Pulse CO2 Laser
is also as a surgical tool with which various skin lesions can be removed or accurately sublimated:
- Seborrheic hyperkeratosis
- Sebaceous cysts
- Freckles, etc.
How long does FRACTIONAL recovery take and what are the symptoms?
After FRACTIONAL treatment, the subject shall initially feel a burning-inflammation in the treated area, immediately after the treatment and for about half an hour, while skin shall be reddened due to inflammation and exhibit slight edema. Edema usually resolves the next day, while redness in 3-4 days when skin starts peel off. Exfoliation lasts 4-5 days. Recovery time ranges from 5-15 days and severity of symptoms depends on the intensity of treatment and the subject’s response.
What should the subject take care of after a FRACTIONAL treatment?
After FRACTIONAL treatment and throughout recovery, the subject should avoid any direct exposure to the sun and always wear sunscreen when in open air or even indoors when in contact with the sun. Care should also be taken not to contaminate the area and keep it dry for 1-2 days. The subject should follow physician’s instructions for good skin hydration and rejuvenation.
